SIMPLE DART TUTORIAL
Ever try to gift wrap a basket ball in wrapping paper? It doesn't work so well.
Fabric is also flat, curved surfaces such as Heads, Finger, Digitigrade Legs, etc are not.

This is a quick tutorial to try to let you understand how darts can help you get around
those tough round parts of your fursuit.

Practice with a piece of paper or even muslin to get an idea. Then try on cheap / scrap fur,
then on your own fursuit!

See here on how I used actual darts to make Finger Tips:

Piece of fur Front

Piece of fur Back

Draw the dart. The wider the dart the MORE of a
curve you will have. The thinner, the less of a curve.
You don't have to have a straight triangle you can
curve it as well to add even more of a curve.
Practice with different shapes but it will most likely
be SOMETHING like this.

Cut the dart out

Sew the triangle part that was cut together.
When folded it looks like this.

Unfolded it has a "hump" or curve at the top, see?

This is the front of the (cheap) fur with the dart cut, sewn, and brushed out.
